Captain Bam Bam - Trash Cans/Pots 'n' Pans

Back to "The Boyz" page

In the early 1980's, Chris discovered the drums at 12, much to the chagrin of his parents. They were decidedly nonplussed at the prospect of a drummer in the house and exerted considerable effort to direct Chris' musical interest toward guitars or piano, anything but drums, yet he would not be swayed. Chris' family was very musical and they quickly realized he was serious about drumming, so they acquiesced and bought him a drum set of his own. He has been playing drums ever since. The rest was inevitable.

Chris was schooled early on playing Van Halen, Journey, Rush, Marillion, Yes, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Kansas, Iron Maiden, Heart, The Fixx, Ozzy, Whitesnake, Judas Priest and the host of other bands that made the 1980's a great decade for music. Not a single-sided player, Chris also listened to drummers like Dave Weckl, Peter Erskine, Billy Cobham, Buddy Rich, Tony Thompson, Vinny Colaiuta, and Jonathan Moffat.

Chris played with bands in high school and college. Chris ultimately chose a profession other than music, but never stopped playing or lost his passion for music. In 2005, Chris joined Hellenback. Hellenback was known for musicianship and strong performances, but ultimately parted ways amicably in 2010 when critical members left the area. Chris connected with Gary and Greg (formerly of Slider) in late 2010 to form what is now one of the best performing, highly talented bands you'll ever see: Wyldesound.

Chris plays Pearl drums and pedals, Zildjian cymbals, Evans heads, and ProMark sticks.
